Hi #agsky

It’s been a minute!

Hope this article might be of interest as I celebrate ten laps around the sun minus grog and the many many learnings across the bush:

I’ve learned that with SITC, while many don’t necessarily comment … SO many are watching.

We regularly reach up to 200,000 people (see below in insight bar) despite very rarely promoting posts.

This speaks absolutely endless volumes to me about the need out there ❤️‍🩹

I am not emotionally equipped for 40 degrees at 6:30 pm.
I’m really not.
I impulse-purchased a massive industrial fan, but I’m not able to get the big bugger of a thing out of my car and up the stairs - so, now I think I’ll just curl up and cry for a minute 😂😂

This could be catastrophic for many users who rely on income, are addicted, etc. my goodness I hope the government shows some duty of care here ….

Imagine banning or blocking someone’s business email? You’d be sued to hell..

Tricky terrain ahead ??

Today was proudly brought to you by Mother Nature and her storms, fires, and one huge red bellied black snake.
January 15, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Another day, another healthy highly venomous snake.

That’s now ELEVEN in 2 months.

Mother Nature, please review previous memos regarding sending your slithery friends on alternative routes…

Yours truly,

Alcohol and drug dependence is a huge issue in rural Australia. A few months ago we chatted with @sobergal.bsky.social about it being ok to say no to a drink.

Well.
This made me 😭😭

It was so good to be doing my thing this week, speaking publicly and hoping to impart powerful, important info & plain truth to our precious youngsters, for the first time in a LONG time after the horror year that was 2024.

How lovely 🥰

Tremendous honour to be invited into the midst of the future of young Aggies to share learnings from Sober in the Country, & help equip bright young minds to be the leaders we needed / still need in the rural space 🩷

Never seen a more accurate representation of what it’s like working to advocate for change in rural Oz and how we “do” the booze thing:
January 12, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Whelp. That was a long day.
Up at 4 am to be in Ballarat this evening… 😵‍💫

After some downtime tomorrow, will be presenting to a lecture hall filled with young aggies (school leavers & graduates) about #soberinthecountry & leadership in our space .

Been awake since 4 am and in transit ….

Yet to leave Sydney airport.

Stuffy enclosed buildings and flight delays are something I 100% do *not* enjoy 😵‍💫

This is the massive downside to remote life. Destinations are a century away & it can be so exhausting!

WHEN will I learn to not look at what we don’t be getting?
Argh.
😢😢

Facebook just reminded me of that one red carpet event in 2022 when I was Marie Claire’s advocate of the year.

That entire year was very surreal. Still is.

I also believe that it’s taken me almost two years since, to fully recover from the extreme fatigue of all the media, travel, etc. life, eh!?
January 7, 2025 at 1:14 AM
So far since October we have had ten highly venemous snakes in our backyard .
RBB’s, regular blacks, browns, and today - a big healthy tiger.

🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

Can that please be enough now, Mother Nature?

Please ?

The magic light ….
How blessed we are to have this view.

Many of you might be opting to cut back or even quit alcohol, in 2025.

Certainly can’t blame “urbanisation” on our ridiculously remote situation. But holy CRAP the snakes are intense this year.
Ten highly venemous slithery friends in the house yard since October.
Not fun.
