i'm starting to get to the point where any book, any book at all, that titles its chapters by which character's pov the chapter is in = automatic rejection for me. I'm just so frustrated by that style of storytelling. It is SO clunky to announce to me during the story that you're shifting pov.

I frequently use my computer's built-in "read-aloud" feature for e-books, which features mainly voices from Google's text-to-speech feature. And I am constantly amazed at how poorly it does at, for ex, always pronouncing "read" in the wrong tense, or bafflingly always assuming "sake" is the wine. ++

earlier today I read a (terrible) porn fic where a fully gender-swapped female character was described as having a prostate, and folks I knew we would reach the era of kids getting their sex ed entirely from AO3 and this is clearly the result
