All caught up with Gachiakuta in 2 days. Highly recommended. The first episode doesn’t properly represent what the rest of the series has to offer. I really love the character eyes.

If I were an anime trope, I’d be one of them gratingly antisocial characters but once you’ve learned my tragic backstory you’ll understand my reasons and warm up to my idiosyncrasies and merchandise. But since most people don’t make it past the pilot episode, they never will — and that’s okay.

Finally found the mental bandwidth to binge watch Gachiakuta! There’s a lot to unpack but the artist, her character eyes and street art vibes really drew me in, as well as the philosophy of channeling love and care into objects to imbue them. I should really head to bed now!
