I do the chrono rewatch of the SW universe once a year now. I would give anything to have a copy of the original versions of the original trilogy.

I bought the tools needed to can/preserve food a while back. It took until tonight for me to make my first jam. Hopefully I did it right and won't kill anyone with botulism. I made a little too much and mixed a few spoonfuls into some plain yogurt. It was amazing.

My frustrations are getting to me.
Commercial real estate in this market is ridiculous.
Everything is garbage, it seems.
I just want to make things with clay, pet the cats, take a nap, and wake up to a better world.

What are your strategies for managing this incredible amount of stress, dread, and anger? The healthy ways, I mean.

I got the doomscrolling, no sleep, avoiding all the things I need to do - down.

Oh that’s intriguing. Thanks for the heads up.

It has been a while since I took Amtrak to Chicago in coach… I don’t remember getting assigned to a seat and forbidden from changing. I am so looking forward to my roomette when I change trains.

Deep breath. It’s Week 3, the last week of session 1 of Pottery Summer camp. Session 2, and another 3 weeks immediately follows. IMO - School Teachers do not make enough money or get enough respect. I don’t know how they do this for the school year.

No. Apples do not fall far from trees. Fascists and their families should have n rest.

I had to get up earlier than usual this morning and found myself with free time - so I wrote a bunch of #PostcardsForVoters and hope you guys can find the time to do that once in a while, too.

My original Friday plans got all shaken up - for good reasons - but instead of an appointment and then a few hours having a spa day I now have five different very important tasks/errands and am anxious about it. I realize now I can't handle more than two things in a day before I start to spin.

Yeah there are a few differences from last time.
Stroke protocols and Opioid overdose are two big differences.

Retaking a long since expired CPR and First Aid certification course. There are knowledge assessments. I apparently remember how to do the actual CPR, but don’t know how to do any of the other protocols properly… On my way to fixing that. Although I’d argue I know how to do the important part.

I *did* have us going into WW3 on my bingo card.

I don't even have words for the feelings I have about what is happening and likely about to happen.

I hope people are safe.

This is unbelievably dystopian.

NEW: The US government has collected DNA samples from 133,000+ migrant children and teenagers and uploaded them into CODIS, a national criminal database originally built for convicted sex offenders and violent criminals, according to documents reviewed by WIRED.
The US Is Storing Migrant Children’s DNA in a Criminal Database
Customs and Border Protection has swabbed the DNA of migrant children as young as 4, whose genetic data is uploaded to an FBI-run database that can track them if they commit crimes in the future.

Well… now I want one, too!

I renewed my passport and the new one is kind of odd to me. One of the pages is hard plastic and looks like an overgrown ID card.

After watching an Asian small clawed otter nearly rip out a woman’s Achilles tendon… there is NO FUCKING WAY I’d get that close to otters.

In addition to a bunch of people needing to look up the McCarthy era, they apparently also need to look up Reagan and Star Wars Program.

Dude. $180 to repair them… I found the newest version for $20 less through Costco.
Still debating just getting something not Apple brand.

TIL that a whole bunch of people don't know about the McCarthy era.
