R.I.P. guitarist Greg Brown of Cake and Deathray. He played on Cake's first two LPs and was the sole writer of "The Distance." “I thought ‘Frank Sinatra’ was a much stronger choice for the single," Brown said about the 1996 hit a few years ago, "[but] it worked out.”

'Significant uptick': VicPD says it has responded to 17 pedestrian, cyclist collisions this month
Victoria Police is reminding drivers to be careful after responding to 17 incidents where drivers, cyclists or a scooter rider were hit on the roads.
