Explain the aversion to simply having a 2-hour delay for schools now? Schools did this all the time when I growing up, never utilized now.
(I don’t blame #a2schools for this morning, the timing of when all the sidewalks and intersections iced over was terrible for decision making.)

Giving #a2council the neighborhood drama. After fed up parents said they’re going to report houses because their kids are falling on the way to school, they’ve been told “shame on whoever reported them rather than talking to their neighbors or lifting a finger to help.”

I think it’s great if you can leave a note or offer to help.
But as a woman using the sidewalks and usually with young kids, I have personal safety considerations to make before approaching a strange house, especially for a negative reason. Resent being told using SeeClickFix is somehow harmful!

Today was absolutely diabolical walking the kids to school. Witnessed about a dozen falls. Understand that this is among the worst case scenarios for sidewalks with warm temperatures causing melt followed by a freeze, but so many didn’t even try! #a2council

⚠️ Due to a sewage emergency, the Downtown Library will be closed until further notice (Thursday, Sept. 25).
