The sweet sounds of nature at 3am (elk sparring, not cats fighting with sticks) I think elk make the funniest noises. They’re so majestic and powerful, then they’ll start squealing and shrieking #wildlife

Felt so off being up here after the cougar attack. This is not backcountry, it’s one mile off the road. But someone lost their life 10 days ago doing this very casual thing so many people love doing. The ridge felt safe enough before, today I felt like an unwelcome and vulnerable intruder. #hiking

Horrible news from Glen Haven. Some people commenting on my town’s social media pages said they were on the scene shortly after the attack & this was a fatality. This is just beyond shocking on such a popular trail. I was up there half dozen times last year alone

The animals were certainly out at Horsetooth today, including a little turkey trot down the road (not keeping to the speed limit at ALL) and a bald eagle flyover #wildlife

It’s 70 degrees at 5000 feet, but if you go up to 9000’ you can make a decent snow angel. This is Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, which opens to foot traffic when it closes to car in the winter, and is one of the few places to hike with your dog inside RMNP #hiking #RMNP #dogsky
