Looking for some help please? Is anyone still in touch with any of their former students who went on study philosophy at Oxford? I am looking to make contact with someone who could help advise/mentor (in a small scale way) a promising year 12 state school student in the North East. #TeamRE

I’ve always had an interdisciplinary approach to philosophy. I feel that at the highest levels of most academic fields, disciplinary walls begin to fade. I know philosophers who are in neuroscience, law, psychology, and business departments. We have to stop policing boundaries.

There are few areas of education so rich with evidence & practice than the effectiveness of vocabulary instruction.

There are three key pillars:

1. Explicit vocabulary teaching
2. Incidental vocabulary learning
3. Developing word consciousness

Looking for recommendations! I have some very keen year 12’s who are looking for wider reading (non-fiction) to supplement their A level RS studies.
Does anyone have any suggestions of books that have worked well?

Can anyone point me in the direction of any educational research on the benefits of creating a culture of success in the classroom. Thinking about if children experience success early in the school year (for example) they are more motivated/attain more. #edusky #teamRE #cogsci

Thinking about that 3/4 borderline - what’s your best strategy or top tip?

I'm really looking forward to my ResearchEd talk on philosophy and education.
I'm hoping there'll be lots of discussion.
I'll try to show how philosophy is all about the frameworks and assumptions which underlie our debates and theories, and some methods for interrogating them.

Please RT!
