His work helped uphold the integrity of the Justice Department even during the most turbulent times. In his post, he reminded us that his oath to serve didn’t include fine print. He took it seriously, even when doing the right thing wasn’t easy. And in his parting words, he quoted Dr. King and Edmund Burke, a clear call to all of us who still believe in justice, decency, and the rule of law. Thank you for your service, Joseph Tirrell. You upheld your oath. And your example reminds us why ethics matter, especially when those in power would rather they didn’t. And we’re worse off without you in that role.
