Another ttrpg character creation idea: Everyone starts with 80 - 100 points. And comes up with a couple one sentence lore ideas. The gm collects them all and has an auction. Were the players bid their points to add that lore to their character.

Alternatively: Everyone comes up with a couple of lines of random character lore. These lines are then randomly distributed to all the players. These lines then become cannon for their character
