We moved my dad to the assisted living part of their complex this week, so I went down to Florida to help out.
This afternoon Bill Colletti came to sing oldies and play pocket trumpet. I did one painting for him and one for my dad to hang in his new place.

Back to Multnomah Falls, this time in the morning. Still no sun on the falls. So I stood in the same spot, same size panel, sketched out the same composition, and then did the painting to see how it would come out different from two days ago. (Posting both pics, today’s first) #pleinair #art

Black Wolf Moon
I only recently learned the second new moon in a month is called a black moon. That’s when I started this piece. Today, on the Full Wolf Moon I finished it (there may be some tweaking when it dries and I glaze it a bit).
Now it’s come full cycle.

One advantage of being too lazy to get out of the house before 3 is that I can catch the golden hour at the inadvertent beaver pond by Error Heights Park, down the street from my house. A good chance to practice my reflection work and simplifying overly complex scenes.
