This is so insane. Genuinely so insane. I can’t wrap my head around it.

I use an android-based boox tablet. It’s great.

What is wrong with you?

I guess if we can’t get street diets and speed enforcement, we’ll get effective speed limit by disrepair.

Absolute lunatics.

Maybe they could have sold more tickets as “Skyline View seats: watch the skyline light up as night falls, and catch some parts of the game too”

Here’s my photo of it!

Was he lying in order to cover something up, or did he forget why he was in the hospital? Or is he so dumb that he thinks they’re the same thing?

Love the Metro bag! Always repping LA!

This is the state that just announced it’s going to crack down on extreme speeders. 18,000 tickets were issued last year for people driving OVER 100 MPH!! How is it possible that they just… got away with that?

And: while it’s true that charging on road trips is less convenient than filling a tank with gas (not difficult, just objectively less convenient), for anyone who is able to charge at home, NEVER going to a gas station within 150 miles of your house is huge. You never have to fill up!

I guess that’s why I’ve been seeing clips from it a lot recently— it was a good show! I’ll watch it.

Why would we expect a 4 hour long 3rd installment in a creatively bankrupt franchise to bring patrons into cinemas?
December 29, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I know a lot of roads that could use some river rocks to cover surfaces that shouldn’t be driven on!
December 29, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Oh, cool! Is that city or federal guidance?

It’s not just LA City— Pasadena installed this a year or two ago. On the whole, really good— the ramps go directly to the crosswalks! Basic, but somehow not common. But they relocated the beg button into the middle of the sidewalk instead of on the edge of the table that they constructed.

Why do you think nothing's coming from LA? My assumption is that there's nobody answering the phone in City Hall because nobody has (yet?) been hired to do any of this work.

It’s long past time to move on from David Brooks, @pbsnews.org

It is closer to being built? There are sections in the Central Valley that have now been built.

The VW id7 (not available in the US) is pretty gorgeous!

The standard deduction keeps going up faster than my income.

It is *so hard* to keep up. I need Ken Burns to do a 15 hour documentary, but I guess I don’t really care about them enough.

Or— and hear me out— both.
December 19, 2025 at 1:10 AM
I didn’t know we’re doing that. Great! Hopefully the development happens quickly and the pilot becomes regular.
