The use of #LLMs like #ChatGPT is incredibly concerning on a number of fronts. For me, one of the largest is that they are being used for education and learning, but they are just wrong incredibly often and then lie about it. They are making people believe incorrect basic facts.

I really haven’t liked the #AppleMusic #UI historically. But this latest version is easily the worst. Pinning now works, but everything is so many more taps to find music and play it.

If you need a high powered #flashlight, the #Wurkkos TS32 is a pretty good option that is on sale right now. 12,000 lumen flood channel with high CRI #Nichia519a LEDs and a center throw channel using the #SFT40. Can act as a power bank as well. wurkkos.com/products/wur...

I can find #Victorinox #SwissArmyKnife design very frustrating. But swapping the scale from my #SAKCompact onto my #SAKExplorer adds the pen to one of my favorite models. One day I hope they let us design our own.

Am I missing a setting, or will #Teams and #Outlook always BOTH give you an #alert for the same meeting update? It is frustrating to see constant double alerts.

Very happy #Apple #iPhone #iOS26 now lets you review #voicemails without auto playing the audio. It was incredibly frustrating to be listening to music or a podcast and have the audio stopped just to check the voicemail transcript. The phone app is really buggy now, but at least this is improved.

Well, for some reason #Chase just made paying bills on their website one of the WORST experiences I have ever encountered. I don't think they could do worse if they tried. So many accordions. All of the important info like payment is hidden. I may change banks just because of this. #UX

Often a #UI feels more intuitive over time. #iOS26 just makes me more and more angry as I notice more and more how bloated and slow it is. So much of this design breaks basic #UX and #Design fundamentals, almost like they were trying to make it noisy and less easy to use.
October 11, 2025 at 6:35 AM
At this point I think #Apple platforms now have the worst #UI #Design of any major companies. Looks bad and is ineffective and inefficient. So disappointing.

Reducing motion and transparency doesn’t help #iOS26 much. Everything is so slow to open, close, etc. Very frustrating #usability #UX
October 1, 2025 at 9:12 PM
It blows my mind that even entering my lock screen passcode in #iOS26 is completely unreadable. Bubbles and transparency EVERYWHERE taking up space and creating horrible contrast collisions. These are mistakes no designer should ever be making.
October 1, 2025 at 6:02 PM
I honestly have never seen a company make so many bad #UX choices in an update like #iOS26. So many basics they chose to make obviously worse. And that’s not including the bugs.

The updates to #YouTube make it feel much more targeted for little kids. I don't get it.

I think we may see more creativity and innovation from #Apple when they stop making people #present like robots whose feet are stuck in cement and arms with restricted range of motion...
September 9, 2025 at 7:24 PM
I didn't see anything today from #Apple that tells me they are fighting to stay relevant, just that they are trying to keep up with #innovation of competitors. Maybe some software announcements coming soon will be exciting?

This #iPhoneAir is a lot of compromise to get thin... not sure anyone has complained that phones are too thick. $4 more a month ($100 total) and you get a much better camera in the #iPhone17Pro or save $200 and get the #iPhone17 and get better battery life. #Apple

Apparently I am the only person who bought the #Lumintop #GT4695 #flashlight based on what they have published on their site and it caught on fire during charging. Now they want ME to pay to send the thing back but without telling me what they will do. lumintoplighting.com/products/lum...

I hope the mock ups for the new #iPhone are wrong. These look really ugly. Like the design magnifies the big haunch on the back.

I unsubscribed from ATPfm’s Patreon and stopped listening because of all of the uninformed hot takes by Siracusa’s co-hosts but had finished everything in my backlog… just 5 minutes in “I know nothing about this and don’t use Reddit, but here’s what I think is happening…”. #podcast

Love to see tools like #Figma integrating so well with #v0 and #Lovable, but it is concerning how many demos I see of teams using them are being incredibly lax on the #design portion. So many basic #UX, #usability, and #accessibility issues. Lowering the barrier to entry usually starts with slop.

Want to set up your #ScreenSaver in #MacOS? Go to System Settings, Screen Saver. Want to change settings for how to activate it? Well, that's in the Lock Screen settings. Want to use a hot corner to turn it on? That's in Desktop & Dock section but you have to scroll down to bottom to find it. #UX

I really appreciate all of the power #Figma has added with #tokens, #variables, and #styles. But so much of it feels like extra work, just set up these formats for us and let us fill in our settings. I don't understand why I need to type in the name of a type face as a variable.

I've used #ChatGPT and #Claude extensively and #Gemini and #Copilot sparingly, I really hope there are new models and interfaces #UI #UX on the timeline. These tools default to behaviors that are very frustrating when I care about data, structure, and facts. Every #interaction requires manipulation.

We all have been on #VideoCalls where someone tries to use their #Apple #AirPods as a mic and have it fail badly. It is genuinely surprising given how great their laptops cancel noise. Hopefully these updates will make EVERYONES lives better! No new hardware needed!
I tested the improved recording quality of AirPods with the recently released beta firmware.

It's MUCH better than before. I'm impressed!
