Watched Ghostbusters II last night and was once again struck by how little Kenner, kings of the movie tie-in toy line, did to cash in on it. Just the Ecto 1A and a roleplay version of the Slime Blower. I know the line was really for the cartoon but not even Vigo or mood slime-branded Ecto-Plazm?
Masters of the Universe Spikor! Always found him uniquely beautiful in both colours and design. Used to turn his head around to pretend he puffer fished his face for defence. Trident arm a bit odd. Like that he’s the blacksmith who created the Terror Claws - which coincidentally (?) match his look!

Masters of the Universe Stinkor! Incredibly clever parts reuse, really works as a skunkman in a gas mask. I try to showcase my childhood figs but this my 2nd, in the 90s I had the forethought to seal 1st away in a tin, rarely remove it. Really preserved his stink, so strong it hits you in the face!

Masters of the Universe Moss Man! Proving that a redeco could be as exciting as a new figure this Mossquatch worked surprisingly well & never felt like a green Beast Man. He was savage in my games, nature’s lethal guardian with thorn knuckledusters. Mine still smells wonderful! - very Christmassy!🌲

Masters of the Universe Battle Armour He-Man vs Skeletor! Wonderful play feature that worked incredibly well. The new armours looked fantastic too. Sadly I was never interested in them as a kid because I had the originals & the new designs weren’t in the cartoon (HUGE mistake, I’d have loved them!)

Masters of the Universe Monogram Roton! The concept art-based features of this kit like the roof & alt face are more familiar now thanks to the Origins version. It could either have a black body with red bits or red body w/black bits & could seat a figure. Amazingly the blade really spins!

Masters of the Universe Roton! Thanks to the Ladybird books Zodac was my preferred pilot for the rotten Roton. Super fun gimmick, sharp look, great colours and deadly in the air as a UFO or on the ground as a Buzzsaw wheel (I decided that it also worked on water as a hovercraft - a triple threat!)

Transformers Age of the Primes Slingshot! Hey kids, buy this obnoxious bullying jerk! His personality problems didn’t stop him getting a lot of focus in the show & this figure is a great representation of his toon self, right down to having Fireflight’s gun like the model sheet (two of them, even!)

Masters of the Universe Weapons Pak! Great idea that allowed me to dress & arm some of the nude figs I got from jumble sales, markets etc. I made the most use out of the silver Grayskull weapons. Never used the unchanged Man-E-Faces gun & only used the yellow Beast Man bits for replacement arm bands

Masters of the Universe Kobra Khan! Loved him though it annoyed me that he didn’t have a cobra hood (you had ONE job Mattel). He had an A+ punny name game & got a whole subline built around him. Always liked that he was inseparable besties with Webstor in media (made it sadder I didn’t have Webstor)

Masters of the Universe Spydor! Skeletor was more than compensated for his early lack of vehicles with this amazing motorised stompy death juggernaut. Leg shape aside it looks more insect-ish than spidery though I guess “Ant-or” doesn’t sound as cool

Masters of the Universe Webstor! This was my white whale as a kid. My dad used to take me in town every week, pocket money at the ready, and we never found him. Probably for the best, awesome as he is I would 100% have broken him. The climbing line is a clever design but very frail

Fireflight was my only Aerialbot as a kid so this update is very welcome (isolation matured him & he & stopped dreaming in my games, leading my Autobot airforce). Super nice figure. Glad he’s got his cartoon head after the Combiner Wars version used the toy
