Who understands better that good intentions mean nothing if you suffer under those choices made than the one who suffered immensely with the consequences?

Who understands better the fear of your children paying for your crimes with their blood than the one who died for their fathers transgressions?

It's hard to find the right nuance

I really wish people would just let fiction be escapism.
Reality is terrible enough as is, at least let me be at ease in my own mind and find some comfort with the fictional characters I know I can trust and let my guard down around...

I did, and it taught me to value my emotions, understand myself better through play, turn my pain and anger into creation rather than senseless hate, and find at least some peace with myself.

Pretending that what keeps me alive couldn't kill me would be naive and entitled.
