steven mwita is back! i think he got his wires crossed because he's doing the retinoblastoma scam with the wrong paypal name, but it makes spotting him that much easier

Been a while since I saw a Steven Mwita scammer but here's a new (old) one. The "I need an insulin pen" scam is pretty much word-for-word what they use.

Another new alias, same MO - steals posts and images from popular posts, follows several thousand people en masse, then immediately starts asking for MA. Please block and tell your friends if you see them reposting these.

so this scammer has a new alias - the post in the image is straight up stolen word for word from someone else, which is kind of a new thing i've seen these scammers do. normally this wouldn't matter but i believe it's to try and sound more legitimate when trying to ply this scam

Here's a weird new one, matches several of the hallmarks of the Steven Mwita scam. "The Freedom Room" is an org in Australia helping people with addiction, and has nothing on their site mentioning Gaza currently, so put two and two together here.

i'll reiterate this because i think it needs restated and it's a fact people don't understand: scammers will often assume marginalized identities because it provides them a layer of protection against being called out. the optics of calling someone claiming to be vulnerable is a shield for them

after doing some research i am convinced this is a scam, you can see the email in the third image being used to con some people in a facebook group a few months ago with a different story where they are apparently dying, but the current account makes no mention of that. curious!
