We've been watching the "28 Days" movies today and it got me wondering about zombie-themed TTRPG sessions. I've ran All Flesh Must Be Eaten in the past, as well as some GURPS and End of the World. What games do you play to get a zombie survival fix?

Today is 80s Horror on our movie marathon. Lost Boys is currently running, and it got me thinking (again) about the GURPS Blood Types book. Easily one of my top 5 GURPS books, and one I used pretty consistently in my '90s campaign.

Just learned that Drew Struzan has passed. My heart goes out to his family. He was an incredible talent and, though I never met him, he seemed like a good person. :(

Watched the Harbour Hellboy movie this morning, and while it was okay, I think I'd like to see more animated movies set in the Hellboy/B.P.R.D. Universe.

Went and saw Tron Ares yesterday. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. There were some fun call backs, and some great set up for sequels we'll probably never see unfortunately. Some of the concepts were kind of cool and could be fun to incorporate into RPG adventures.

Watching the X-Files episode "Home" today (S4 E20). One of the more horror-themed episodes of the show IMHO, and something terrifyingly easy to run in Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green. Speaking of which, has anyone ran a small group of either game akin to X-Files? Two agents looking into the weird?

Got this in the mail today. What a fantastic reprint and memory piece. I remember as a kid I had the original and read it until the cover came off. For those that didn't know, I'm a huge fan of the DC Horror line from the '60s to the '80s. Highly recommended.

Since it's spooky season, I've been reading the latest DC Finest Horror tome. Such a great book! And it got me thinking... what about running a mini-campaign using books like House of Mystery or House of Secrets as inspiration?

This. All of this. Preach, Bruno.
Yeah, “asking people permission for robbery would kill the robbery industry”, such a fucking shame… FUCK AI

Having just finished Sandman and started Wednesday (first time viewing), what do you find is the line where urban fantasy crosses into horror? Beyond World of Darkness, what system do you think best emulates that kind of game?
October 8, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Speaking of Horror TTRPGs, what are some systems that you've always wanted to try but haven't had a chance? Monster of the Week is something that always looked fun to me, but I've had a "hit or miss" relationship with the PBtA engine. Vaesen is another one I've been tempted to pick up.

Continuing on a spooky TTRPG path... speaking in more modern times, I've found myself using AGE and Ubiquity over the past few decades, and have pretty much settled into Call of Cthulhu these days for almost everything. I enjoy the simplicity, but robustness of the system these days.

It's Spooky Month, so let's talk Horror TTRPGs. During the '90s I almost exclusively ran GURPS for my horror games. I found that I could really cater the game better to various styles of spookiness. From evil psychics, vampire, and beyond, the game was a ton of fun.

Do yourself a favor and read Titans Annual #1 (2025) by @philjimeneznyc.bsky.social. Such an incredible story featuring Donna Troy. Thank you, Phil, for such a touching tale.

I've always wanted a proper omnibus of Alien Legion. I have the Dark Horse versions, which are kind of tiny. I want a tome with extras and sketches in the standard omni format.

@comicstitan.bsky.social, any chance we might see one of those from you in the near future? Please? :)

Had to order this as soon as I saw it! I'm a huge Southern Knights fan and have been wanting an omnibus of the issues for decades! Thanks Critical Blast and Henry Vogel for collecting the issues together.

Bagging some Champions and V&V books to give them some longevity on the shelf.
April 28, 2025 at 2:19 AM
My wife had gone out thrifting and found a copy of Champions II (1982) at the local book shop for $5. I remember looking through a buddy's copy in the '80s and marveling at the cool stuff in it. Today, I'm actually using it for some formatting stuff I'm working on. Funny how things circle around.

Working on some writing today, and during some research, I started thinking of the c-list villains we've seen in comics. I've always imagined that we have a favorite among them and was wondering... what's your favorite c-list villain from Marvel and DC comics?
