Senior Product Manager working in online learning. Passionate about finding ways to do stuff better.

Had more boat hooks than you've had hot dinners.
This year I'm taking part in procjam, a jam where you make something that makes something.

I was always fascinated by procedural generation, my university dissertation was even focused on it!

If I wasn't such an abysmal programmer, I'd definitely have liked to have spent a career in that area.

I decided to run a half-marathon this morning and promised myself I wouldn't stew on the sofa for the rest of the day... and yet here I am.

Finished it in 1 hour and 53 mins! My 4th ever half and my best time yet.

Somehow got from Anne Boleyn's chequers ring to popular song "Hitler has only got one ball" on the commute to the park run.

Now this is what being British is about.

Product gripe of the day.

Why don't wireless headphones turn off on their own?

It's really hard to tell when I've left them on and surely if it's been 5 minutes or so with no audio, they should shut down?

I've been cat sitting this week and every time I tell someone they say:

"Aw cute! What cat is it?"
"Eeeer a black one?"

Is that the right answer or is everyone but me really into cat breeds and knows more than me?

Finished reading Atomic Habits after a long period of putting it off.

Definitely lives up to it's reputation IMO.

So... close... to under 25 🏃‍♂️

When I broke my arm in 2023 I spent a lot of time researching my family tree.

I discovered that my great-grandad's brother died fighting in then-Burma in WW2 (I knew my great-grandad pretty well).

As part of my research I found out he actually has a war grave over there in a place called Yangon.

Yesterday I did a talk about north star metrics at work to our product community of practice.

I'm generally pretty confident at presenting online. But the stomach turning build up was still there.

Does that feeling ever go away?

Today the weather has been awful, proper end of the world stuff.

....and I still have a 15km run to do in it!?

The reported heroic efforts by the train staff on Saturday only reinforces what RMT has been saying for years about the need to maintain staff on all services.

This is pretty normal down here in Cornwall, but when I catch the train in Staines area - you basically never see a staff member.

I keep wanting to screenshot and share the mega dumb crack in my phone screen that I got last night.

But that's not how technology works 😪

Peachtober? Completed it mate ✅️

Third year in a row amazingly!

Lammy's fishing license.
Rayners unpaid stamp duty.
Reeves missing license.

Serious question. Why can't they get the basics right?

Starmer must be tearing his hair out.

I'd be up for a personal AI agent renewing my broadband bill.

"Get me the exact same I'm paying for now, but for cheaper".

They could then give the sales rep a hard time as a top negotiator.

What a terrible chore.

Today I had a rare pub roast and I think I'll be thinking about it for many months to come.

Today is the first time since probably mid-January that I'm actually ahead of my target to hit 1500km by the end of the year 🏃‍♂️

I don't know how I've done it, but it's been some October!

Snap from the park run yesterday 📷

Is vibe coding basically a fancy way of saying you have absolutely no f****** idea what you're doing?

Feel like we're entering a world of dangerous products.

YouTube has got one of my favourite films "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" currently available for free.

It's a film about a kid managing PTSD at high school, dark, but generally a charming coming of age film.

Literally I'm midway through a gripping sad scene earlier and BOOOM GLITZY ADVERT 1/2

PB at the park run today, unexpected, body beaten from a tough three weeks of increasing mileage. Up to 55km a week!

Not many left now to sneak in under 25 minutes.
October 25, 2025 at 11:22 AM
It's been one of those weeks at work where everything goes right.

Today I learnt you can 2x Instagram reels by holding the bottom left of the screen.

I feel like a sucker now. All that wasted time.

Treated myself at last to the very popular Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Very digestible common sense for building good habits.

Would recommend (so far).
