The Kaua'i house is clean, the bags are packed and we are checked in for our flight back to Washington. We sat out on Maka'huena doing our last whale spotting this year. On to a very busy life on the mainland with its own beauty and many wonderful friends and neighbors.

I have only read 40 pages of Report of the Last Miracle at Little No Horse, by Louise Erdrich and I am going to tell you that you need to read it. The writing is just so masterful that I was drawn in by the first sentence and carried along from there.

Moli, or Laysan Albatross on the north shore of Kaua’i. These guys are hanging out in a residential neighborhood. You can see them in cul de sacs and on lawns.
