It's Eid al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, but droughts in Algeria have left lambs scarce. To keep tradition alive, the government is importing sheep and distributing them via lotteries.

The Ethiopian Media Council to (EMC) begin certifying journalists based on education or work experience. Certified journalists will get a QR code-linked ID. The system aims to “differentiate journalism from activism”, a distinction open to interpretation. @pressfreedom.bsky.social
