Well, friends and neighbors, I've set up a port of call here under the sky of blue. I hope to reconnect with my friends who left the other app permanently.

As Shakespeare said, Hell is empty and all the devils are here.

Imagine if Herbert, Camus, and Star Wars got drunk together and accidentally left their story notes on my desk. The result would be a galaxy-spanning, philosophy-laced, sci-fi fever dream called The Harmony.

Read it now before my mom buys all the copies.

It’s my birthday, and my debut novel The Harmony just launched. I’ll save the full launch post for later, but I wanted a moment here for myself. I never thought I’d publish a work of fiction and at 45, I’m only just getting started. Happy birthday to me!

My debut novel releases on August 31st. A sci-fi epic that reported has Issac Asimov rolling over in his grave.

Okay chapter 10 of Death Stranding 2 is a masterpiece and one of my favorite levels in any game ever

Fans were upset when the 15th Doctor regenerated into Rose Tyler but Kojima already had the fix. Introducing Debra Wilson as the 17th Doctor. The TARDIS was destroyed by a Beached Thing. I just fixed the whole all 60 years of Who faster than Sam repatriates.

Rick & Morty may have evaporated from the zeitgeist, but for me it's still the best mix of parody, dark, absurdist, and meta humor ever made. From episode one when Rick tells Morty to shove mega seeds up his “taut, yet malleable ass” it boldly went where no one had gone before.

Got up early to get a little Death Stranding 2 in and now I’m on a mission to rescue a kangaroo while flaming whales crash around me like meteors. Kojima somehow moved the weirdness needle again. He's now lurking in a dark corner of Night City twirling his mustache.

Whenever I see some fanciful marketing puffery like “Now 2x creamier!” I imagine it coming out of a zany Dr. Seuss-style machine. Like the Onceler invents the Cream-O-Matic Guzz-Wuzzler, churning out truffula coffee cream that’s magically twice as creamy.

I just finished South of Midnight. Took all of about 11 hours. I liked it quite a bit. A poignant and gorgeously told tale of generational trauma. The art style looks hand-painted, like it came off a brush and the stop-motion animation is dazzling.

I listened to some video game OSTS today at the behest of a friend and it got me thinking about how music sounded different to our ears in the time of Mozart, due to factors like equal temperment tuning. I feel a time travel story brewing.

Working title: Back to the Opera House.

Clair Obscur is one of the greatest games of all time (or GOAL—pass it on) and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.

(I was never pretending, I just added that for dramatic effect)

Today's dramatic irony: Amazon Alexa. It's playing music too loud for it to register the command to lower the volume. It's dramatic irony because Alexa knows something that I apparently don't: it doesn't give a shit about how loud I want it to play music 😂

The word Monday comes from the Old English Monandaeg, meaning “moon day", a translation of the Latin dies lunae, or “day of the moon.”

Fitting, as Monday eclipses your joy, phases your mood, and by 9am you’re shaking your ass at the weekend.

Happy Monday, darlings 🍑

In honor of May the 4th

We used to go to this rave in Orlando called Firestone. There was this guy who was there all the time everyone called the Jungle Jedi. Instead of glow sticks he had two full sized lightsabers. Dude used to dance like he was a Sith hunting Jedi. Crazy shit 😂

I made the grave mistake of eating White Castle for lunch and now I'm expecting a xenomorph to burst out of my stomach.

I want to be on bluesky exclusively because I fucking hate Nazis and how they are ruining everything I ever loved about my country.

But there are some key friendships that haven't moved and most likely won't. I can sacrifice relationships or I can feel icky all over.

God Bless America

I dislike how we use GOTY as the implicit consensus of how good we feel a game is. That's petty, I know, but I've been playing games for 40 years. GOTY doesn't really narrow it down much. From now on, in conjunction with GOTY, I'll be using GOAL (game of a lifetime) like the pretentious asshole I am

I finished Clair Obscur.

Saying anything more would be a spoiler so all I say is the path I choose was pure fucking cinema. The ending shot will haunt my dreams for years to come.

A Masterpiece.
