Australia winning inside two days sounds good for them…but think of the lost revenue from not having three days more play. See, England win really🤣🤣🤣🤣.

It’s no big deal that Australia are probably going to get 205 in the 4th Innings of this test. It’s a Day 2 pitch. England have absolutely thrown this away. I don’t think the perpetual aggression of Bazball does work, if all it does is prevent you the opportunity to bowl on a wearing pitch. #Ashes

Bloody weather. First innings finished and then rain arrives after 5 overs into second innings. Match abandoned.

Going to be one of those days umpiring. Beautiful start to the day…but you just know it’ll be raining by tea. #cricket

My wildlife pond is less than a year old, but it has had its first dragonfly emergence! Not being an expert I’d love some help in identifying its species. #insect #dragonfly #pondlife #nature

Reading Derek Birley’s ‘Social History of Cricket’ and this paragraph about cricket in 1875 struck me:

Call me old-fashioned but sledging opponents when you’re playing in the second bottom division in a league is pathetic. If you were any good at cricket you’d be playing in the Premier Division. #cricket

Learnt a lesson today…£100 of pond fish gone. Just gone within 24 hours. Need netting if I decide to introduce fish in the future. #pond #ukgarden

Thought I’d start cataloguing the arthropds that I spot in my garden. So, today’s first image is (actually on the doorframe of my front door!) a Common soldier beetle. #ukgarden #insects #arthropods
