American health is just so fucked up.
Not getting hit remotely as hard as people in states with less vigorous protections, but my medical insurance is jumping to $800 a month for a plan that covers very little (doesn't pay for my blood tests, for example, or other tests ordered by my doctor).

Anyone else want to join me for an introverts Xmas. Everyone hanging out in a room together, but they’re all reading a book or playing their games console or writing whatever. No screaming, or shouting. Just quiet with the occasional passing around of mince pies, and other snacks.

Also the likelihood of a population census requiring everyone to return to the place of a man’s birth. Talk about a ridiculous amount of travel for everyone to return to the place they were born. Which was also the reason why there were no rooms to be had.
I am not a Christian of course but like all Americans I have spent my life marinating in Christian mythography, and so around this time of year I have a lot of thoughts about the Nativity and the part where the innkeeper says there's no room in the inn.

Cats domesticated themselves because we had plenty of mice and rats (trying to eat our grain stores), and we had nice warm fires in our shelters.
