Ok, not a film-related post, but let’s light a candle for Clara Peller today, who had an entire generation asking where the beef was. #OTD in 1984, we were introduced to her as the very first “Where’s the beef?” commercial for Wendy’s aired! youtu.be/u0aKKFybRNM

And it’s off to the airport we go to ship my baby girl off across the Atlantic for semester 2. She got pretty ingenious in front of our disbelieving eyes with how she’s fitting her sweaters, scarves, and coat onto the plane. This isn’t a joke, God help us.

This decades-old Bowie song cuts more deeply today than ever before.

“A little piece of you
And the little peace in me
Will die (this is not a miracle)
For this is not America…

…Falcon spirals to the ground (this could be the biggest sky)
So bloody red, tomorrow’s clouds”

Q: After you told ICE to get the F out, Republicans are criticizing you for escalating tensions

FREY: I'm sorry if I offered their Disney princess ears, but if we're talking about what's inflammatory, on one hand you got someone who dropped an F bomb & on other you have someone who killed someone

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story - A worthy third entry with Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc. Darker, less humorous than the first two. But solid with an impressive cast and satisfying payoff. The cast of the original is still the best, but Glenn Close is always the G.O.A.T. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

#OTD in 1895 in a cafe basement in France, Auguste & Louis Lumiere had paying customers sit in the dark to watch larger-than-life moving images projected in front of them in the first global instance of ‘going to the movies.’ In 1896, ‘Snowball Fight’ would (presumably) have screened in a ‘cinema.’

A fierce, vulnerable Kate Hudson is the best part of the film. Until the dramatic twist, the story feels aimless and zig-zagging, almost like the first draft of a screenplay. But top-notch singing and Hugh Jackman’s different hairpieces keep it engaging. ⭐️⭐️⭐️out of 5
