Cherie Dimaline has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Empire of Wild, Venco, and The Marrow Theives are all fantastic stories where she takes Indigenous stories and storytelling and casts them in a modern light. Each of these books get a 5/5 from me. #bookreccomendations

My next read is The Marrow Theives by Cherie Dimaline. Cherish is an Indigenous and Métis author living is what is now known as Canada. She had written other titles such as Empire of Wild and Venco, which are also excellent novels.

Finished reading Two Old Women by Velma Wallis today, and I give it 4/5 stars. It's a story about Two Old Women being abandoned by their tribe during times of hardship. The two old women re-engage with their survival knowledge and survive the harsh winter with hard work and each other's company.

For Indigenous History Month, I will be reading a few books and recommending others I have read in relation to the experiences and traditional stories of various Indigenous people that live and have lived on the stolen land of Turtle Island, or what is know to some to be Canada.
