I've never done an introduction post, so: I'm Samantha from Virginia, love just about all of nature & taking pictures of it. Used to study biology & turtles but got stuck working in a dental office. Now I'm mostly housebound with chronic illness & watch classic film all day long! loves: 🍄🐝🕷️🪶🐢🐇🌼🌱🌫️🌧️📷🎥
welp it turns out the reason my eyes weren't adjusting to my new glasses were because they switched the right and left lens prescriptions 😵

I survived! it was even more awful than I imagined lol
hospital procedure is on for tomorrow. I'm more anxious about crashing from fasting or getting superflu than I am about the procedure. please cross fingers for me that it goes smoothly and that everyone is masked

I stood up because I needed something, but in walking a few steps to the kitchen, I forgot what needed. so I looked in the fridge etc until I saw my bare feet, and finally remembered I had gotten up to get compression socks from the bedroom. lol POTS can be a wild ride

the good news is my white blood cell count was normal this time!! it's a miracle! I can have the procedure!
the bad news is I'm sick. I think it's just MCAS sick so hopefully it works itself out quickly. #NEISVoid

2nd blood draw done, please cross fingers that the results are better this time! it was miserable, I'm going to be so mad if it was for nothing again. and cross fingers that I didn't get whatever sickness was going around the waiting room.

I have no idea if I'm SICK sick or just bad MCAS sick. I really don't know how to tell, as someone who has never had a non-MCAS baseline. but it is not good! definitely not doing well!

oh and I can't take my cbd oil because of the procedure I may or may not be having, and it's the only thing that lets me cope with the adrenaline. so as bad as things are, I am not able to handle them at all with my adrenaline spiking constantly. I can't keep calm. #NEISVoid
having a hard time. 20g of salt & 160oz of water yesterday and I still couldn't get out of bed. had bloodwork done for a procedure but my white blood cell count was high so I have to do it again. I don't have much hope that it will be better so I'm guessing the procedure will be put off. #NEISVoid

I didn't see a bald eagle at the river but I guess I saw one over my parents' house. darkest one I ever saw, I assumed it was a vulture but never saw any white feathers! #birds

still can't see properly through my new glasses so no birding yet this year. the only birds I've been able to see are lots and lots and LOTS of canada geese flying by my apartment (and a couple vultures). here is a previous goose, sorry if it is a bad picture I can't tell 😅 #birds #CouchBirding
