A decentralized alliance defending Artist Rights.
We exist to protect gig-poster artists in a world getting louder, cheaper, and less human. We share the info others won’t, so you don’t have to face it alone.
Stronger together. We hold the line.
They hire you for a poster design, then want to put it on tees, hoodies, decks, stickers, digital albums. Turning one job into five artist paychecks they never have to pay out. Rights matter. Don’t sign them all away without pay. #artistsunited #artistrights #speakup #together

REMEMBER: Merch usage rights should come with basic info. Quantities, licensing terms, and who’s producing it. Artists aren’t saying no to merch. We’re saying NO to unclear deals.

Animation workers at Titmouse LA unionized in 2020 and won minimum rates, overtime protections, and healthcare.

Gig poster artists are independent contractors who also want to keep rights to their art.

What models could exist to protect our pay and rights without sacrificing independence?

If you create signed, numbered editions under 200 copies, you get federal moral rights (VARA). You can stop distortion or destruction of the art, even if you sold copyright. This applies in all 50 states. Some states like CA & NY add even more protection.

Did you know?
Many NDAs demand you stay silent forever, even about your own art. Before signing, watch for vague terms, unlimited duration, and clauses blocking you from showing work in your portfolio. Question everything. Your rights matter.

🚨 Artists: Watch for NDAs like this. This is from a REAL project.

– They own your drafts.
– $1,000 per “breach.”
– No end date.
– You can’t share your own work.
– They profit, you risk.

This isn’t protection. It’s a trap.

Your tour poster art gets fed into AI.

Next week: It’s “reimagined” on merch you never approved.

This is how people lose jobs and pay disappears.

Say no to AI training. Say yes to authorship.

Signal Hold Guiding Principles - Draft

Artists keep authorship. No forced buyouts. No AI use without consent. Want full rights, or rights for additional use? Pay fairly.

Artists, DM your thoughts here!
We’re building this together.

If It’s Worth Putting on Merch, It’s Worth Paying for the Right of Use.

Did you know?
One poster design allowed to be used on shirts, boards & stickers over a 15-show tour can net $30k+ extra?

Let artists keep their art rights or pay a minimum of $8k+ for full ownership. Fair is fair. What do you think?
