Hegseth’s as Secretary of Defense is a depressing symbol of the office’s decline—His focus on image over substance, and controversy over competence, reflects a dangerous trivialization of one of the most serious government roles. It’s embarrassing and a security risk.

Any news outlet reporting Mexico conceded anything to Trump to get him to delay tariffs has not done its homework.
