Released Actions Up for interactive GitHub Actions updates. 🔼

It replaces floating version tags with commit SHAs for better security.

Scans all workflows, shows outdated actions, lets you choose what to update, and adds version comments for readability.

Follow up!

Were you able to develop/intuit the whole thing or did you have to look up and memorize the algorithms?

I can intuit the first two layers but have to look up the algos for the final layer

Getting hand, foot, and mouth was not on my bingo card for 2024, but here we are 😳

For anyone who has gotten it as an adult, how screwed am I? (I already have the worst sore throat I can remember)

I just switched sidpalas.com, devopsdirective.com, and courses.devopsdirective.com from Plausible to GoatCounter 🐐

I used to self host Plausible, but:
1. The free credits for the VM I was running on expired
2. A couple of times the clickhouse instance storing event data filled up the disk with logs

I debate whether or not to purchase things (or which option to buy) long enough that if I spent that time doing client work I could just pay for the item with the extra money... 🙈

Security pro tip: if you find a USB key on the ground somewhere, DO NOT plug it in to your home computer.

Take it to the office and plug it in there. They have way better software that will mitigate any threats.

The cool thing about keeping a workout log is being able to look back and see how much you lifted 5 years ago... 💪

The sad thing about keeping a workout log is being able to look back and see how much you lifted 5 years ago [compared to now]... 😭

I'm seriously considering getting the new Mac Mini + portable monitor instead of a MacBook Pro...

Most of the time, I work out of my home office. Once a week I work elsewhere, but at a desk (and already bring keyboard + mouse + iPad for sidecar).

👍 or 👎?

What causes DevOps complexity?

Why do software systems devolve into a world of pain and toil?

It is due to a topic I have named...

The DevOps Chasm! 🧵
