My attempt at making a (fictional) modernized Mini Coupé, but instead of being transverse FWD, it's mid-engined RWD. I tried taking styling cues from modern Minis, mainly 2018-2020.

A spy photo leaked in early 2010 at the Ardes testing grounds of an odd-looking aerodynamic prototype labeled HSM-XPR1. "HSM" had already been used by Ardes for a '96 concept called HSM13C, which meant "Hybrid Sport Mobility", but years of waiting proved that it never went past the prototype stage.

Starsky (Ardes' automotive group) had previously announced plans to revive the famous Checker Motor Company brand back in '22, and in '24 they revealed the first model in the lineup: The new Marathon, inspired largely by the original Marathon, built on the same platform as the Ardes Serpens MK2.

The Ardes Azrael 18R was presented as a design study for a possible "car of tomorrow". The styling was noted to be ahead of its time like some other concepts like the Lancia Stratos Zero or the Alfa Romeo Carabo. It was equipped with the same 1.8L EFI Inline-4 as the '78 Serpens, but tuned to 350hp.
