During the meeting, the minister and his accompanying members answered in detail the questions asked by the committee members about the accounting process and allocation of the national budget last year. The commander of the Somali National Army, Gen. Abdikadir Ali Farah said that Puntland prisons house more than a thousand prisoners who are cared for every day, but each person is paid only $1.27 for a daily meal. The commander noted that this amount is very small compared to the basic needs of prisoners, such as health, nutrition, and hygiene. He asked the Parliament to seriously discuss this issue and to increase the budget for the care of prisoners. He added that the correctional service is engaged in ensuring prison security and protecting the rights of prisoners, but financial constraints are hindering this operation. The Correctional Service also suggested that they receive technical and financial support from international organizations to improve the living conditions of prisoners.

The funeral of the deceased in Bosaso was attended by various officials and officials from the Puntland government.
