Decent reduction everywhere but China, which was only steady. I love it and look forward to it getting worse.

This is fairly horrifying in terms of potential scope #radminsky
🚨 NIH sent out another data call, this time for projects "related to any form of censorship at all or directing people to believe one idea over another related to health outcomes… e,g., any contracts to promote COVID vaccine uptake," I'm told.

These data calls have recently preceded terminations.

They’re not perfect but I’m not ashamed of any of them either and these days that’s a big deal.

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.
re the previous repost: if they can disappear permanent residents they can disappear citizens

I think the problem is that a plurality of people who identify as democrats want to shift right, but the majority of Americans actually want significantly more progressive policy on many topics and have disengaged from a party system that isn’t delivering it.
March 8, 2025 at 6:32 PM
Also moderates don’t deliver what people want so many people either don’t vote (most common) or they vote for whoever promises radical change even if that person is obviously a bad call to anyone paying attention (Trump).
March 8, 2025 at 6:21 PM
The vast majority of Americans are independents, and what they want are jobs that will pay their bills and safe places to live and raise healthy families. Centrist dems don’t particularly deliver that.

I recently processed an FOIA request on one of our grant applications that had been submitted two years earlier , so fingers crossed. 🤣

My understanding is that it’s hard/unusual to force DOJ to continue if they don’t want to. This would mean Trump and Co don’t have leverage on Adams in the same way, which is an improvement from what they want, and NY can presumably still go after him.
March 8, 2025 at 12:09 AM
Would have been nice to get a reason to force things to continue, because Adams is 100% guilty, but this would fuck over Trump while backing him into a corner so I’m here for it.

I’m just shocked we’re still pursuing anti-trust litigation under Trump.

They probably just looked at locations and chose randomly. Surprised the White House wasn’t on the list.

I have so much respect for their board for keeping DOGE and Marocco out and then going on the offensive right away.

The judge that partially blocked the EO on DEI said something very similar, that it's so vague a definition it's functionally useless.

NEWS: Trump abruptly assembled his cabinet today to let them know Elon MUSK is not in charge of hiring/firing -- they are.

It was an abrupt admonition that appeared aimed at the mounting legal scrutiny of Musk's power over the government.
