Picking out fabrics for my head bag with Mom went mostly really well, surprisingly?? She's been super helpful and invested with getting some styles and patterns to use, and I know she's excited to teach me how to sew it up...

I will be doing three things on Friday evening. One, picking out materials with Mom to make a head bag for Mel. Two, opening the floor for any questions she has about me being a furry. Had someone at work today ask me if I was team Nicki or team Cardi. All I could tell them was that I was too busy listening to Hozier to pick a side. The part I didn't tell him was that it's because I'm a queer white person who deals with existential crises like it's just another Tuesday afternoon.

Pondering asking my mom (who has been notably avoidant about discussing furry with me since I first showed her what exactly it is I do at these cons) to make fursuit head bags for Mel and Reven for Christmas. I'm flying Mel out to Boston again soon, after all. What could possibly go wrong?

After 43 hours, my birthday weekend adventure comes to a close. A new suit, a new con, an out of fandom dance event, some old friends, and the chance to level up my heels game, all wrapped up into one trip. It may not have always been the smoothest, but I had so much fun the whole way through!

Looks like I just missed the cutoff for FurrestCity reg. Got stuck walking for too long and couldn't find the place from the garage while Google had me turned around. Definitely disappointed to have driven all the way out just to not see the con, but at least I have other things to look forward to.

I really needed IFC to go as well as it did for me this weekend. I got to record videos for both an online competition and an uplifting showcase, and I brought my best for Floor Wars and Dance Comp and I'm walking away with nothing but pride in myself and gratitude for everyone else involved.
