this doesnt go for just art either, as soon as you start learning to replace "i cannot do this" with "i bet i could do that too" you start to grow, and opens many more doors of possibility. stop putting yourself on a level below your inspirations, /everything/ is a skill that can be learned
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone goes “I CANNOT make art. I’ll never make art. I can’t even do stick figures.” This learned helplessness is pathetic and insulting, and ignores the work all artists must do. And now there is even more incentive for these people to just settle into it.
