We lost our beloved girl in May 23 #BeMoreLaura is her legacy ❤️
#TheStarsWillStillBeThere is out in paperback this week, it's a story of hope, love, kindness & resilience. A very ordinary family living everyone's worst nightmare.

As we near the end of #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth the need for change is more desperate than ever.
Through the #BeMoreLaura foundation we'll keep campaigning & funding vital research into #Glioblastoma because no family should ever experience this utter devastation.

Some moments change your life forever.
I just wanted to share this audio clip from #TheStarsWillStillBeThere - the very first inkling that something was amiss.

Like so many other families, we thought brain tumours happened to other people but we were horribly wrong.

This piece by John Hazeley
really nails it.
We often underestimate just how devastating the loss of a sibling can be & how it can impact life in so many ways.

Gracie & I got matching tattoos when we lost Laura last year, I felt the need to wear my grief in some way because I would forever by branded by the loss of my daughter. She was my North my South, my East my West. My working week and my Sunday rest.

Gracie's recently joined the team at Sibling Support Charity & this week they’ve launched an incredibly helpful resource for parents trying to help a child cope with the loss of their sibling.
Please feel free to share with anyone who might find it helpful ❤️

Public speaking scares the pants off me but it’s important to share our stories (& #bemorelaura ) so today I was grateful for the opportunity to speak at a brilliant Pro Manchester event alongside the inspirational Clarke Carlisle & Andrew Jenkins from S2 #Traitors

“We walked to a bench overlooking the sea to stare up at a million stars in the velvet sky, untroubled by light pollution.

‘When we’re dead & buried, the stars will still be there, & the tide will come in and go back out; we’re really hardly anything at all, are we?’ Laura said softly.”

I’m sure I’ve been guilty of this in the past & I know I meant well but whether it’s the loss of a loved one or a horrible diagnosis - words really do count.
Starting a consoling sentence with ‘Well at least…’ is never a good idea & if you don’t know what to say - just say that ❤️

As of today, I can no longer say ‘I lost my daughter last year’ & if it’s not last year, it must seem like ages ago to other people who probably wonder why I'm still so bloody sad?
2025 is another year Laura doesn’t get to see & a step further away from her.
Grief is completely relentless isn’t it 💔

What started as a mad idea back in Jan ended yesterday as - with the help of friends & family - Gracie & I completed our 100th climb of #PendleHill on Laura’s 25th birthday

If you’re up early tomorrow you can watch us finish on BBC Breakfast.
Happy Christmas & thank you for the love & support 🎄

Back in January @GracieNuttall41 & I set ourselves the challenge of 100 climbs of #PendleHill before Laura would have turned 25.

We’ve saved the very last one for her birthday on Monday - really hope it’s drier than number 99 was yesterday!

Really didn’t expect the loss of our beloved collie Ziggy to multiply the grief we were already experiencing - but without both Laura & Ziggy, everything just feels broken & unfixable
I know there’s lots to be grateful for & others have it harder, but this Christmas feels v tough.

Brilliant show, fantastic musicians ❤️

Always worth remembering this, it’s ok to feel exactly how you feel and ignore any sentence that starts with
‘At least….’

Heading down to #Westminster for the APPG on #BrainTumours & hope to catch up with our new MP #JonathanHinder & committee chair #SiobhainMcDonagh
I’m doing my best to be optimistic that this might herald a renewed focus on kinder, more effective treatments - change is well overdue

You’ll have noticed that I’m the noisy one in our house, always banging on about Laura & the horrors of #BrainCancer

But in light of #imacelebrity2024 & #BarryMcGuigan talking about his grief, Mark was asked about #ChildLoss from a dad’s perspective & it’s so powerful 💔

Today my 5 yr diary is complete.

It’s full of wonderful memories & the worst days anyone could live through

Every day I’ve been reminded of the events of past yrs but now I’m writing in a blank book - feels sadly symbolic

Without it, I’d never have written #TheStarsWillStillBeThere

Forever grateful to #TonyLivesey & @mrchrishunter.bsky.social for continuing to shine a light on #BrainCancer allowing me to talk about how underfunded & under-researched it is
It’s 18 mths since we lost Laura, 6 yrs since she was diagnosed but treatments for #glioblastoma haven’t changed in decades
