They definitely play a long game. It is neither smarter nor fair. They subsidise, monopolise and protect certain strategic economic sectors and then flood markets to destroy competition. After competition is gone, they start to extort the economy that was left without viable alternatives.

I completely agree that China uses trade as main leverage in international relations. My argument is tat it will be nearly impossible for the regime to promote their currency as a reserve one despite their trade position. It takes much more than trade to convince countries to hold your currency.

Agree. Nevertheless communes were never actually implemented by any former or contemporary communist state. It is the desired end state. Like the promised land. There was always private ownership in every communist country.

Communism was never about collective property ownership. It was always about subjugation and extraction of wealth to the central authority.

Politically it's like USSR, economically it's like RF. They are communists and they are proud of that. Good luck explaining to a Chinese he/she is not a communist 😆. As communists they have 0 bearing to finance and economy. It's trial and error all the way. And it's far from market economy.

It's 100% contemporary ruzzian economy. Stock markets need transparency and accountability to function long term. That's why Hong Kong people moved to Singapore. Private ownership is a lie without ability to protect it legally. That's absent in russia and china

It has more common with Russian economy than with the western. If you are loyal to the communist party you are entitled. Nothing different in that regard from any other communist country. The second you somehow show disobedience you end up like Jack Ma and probably thousand others. Or worse.

When your main international trading partner is a communist, frankly - everything. As for the reserve currency - any nation that has once held its gold in USSR and traded with their international rubles will explain how communism and reserve currencies get along.
