Did I hope that Democrats would let the bill fail? Yes.
Do I understand that some Democrats think that Trump will use the shutdown to shut down even more of the federal offices? Yes.
There are no good choices, but we mustn't pile on the Democrats. That's what the GOP wants us to do.;

Dismantling the Department of Education has nothing to do with improving outcomes for our kids, it’s simply about taking away resources from our public schools.

I think not.

The 1st president of the U.S. to ever have an unelected bureaucrat in the Oval Office after that guy bankrolled his campaign with $250M just congratulated himself for draining the swamp and announced, "The days of rule by unelected bureaucrats are over."

You can't make this up.

Military aid to Ukraine has always been a bargain for the U.S.

We degraded Russia’s armed forces and replaced our own stockpiles with brand new weapons, all while brave Ukrainians— not Americans—fought the Russians off.

Halting that aid is not only morally repulsive, it’s plain stupid.

When you are getting rid of the Department of Education, threatening schools that they won't get funding from the Department of Education is not really a threat.

We had Russia on the ropes.

They were crippled by sanctions.

They had made minimal headway into Ukraine.

Putin had to survive a military uprising within his own ranks.

He was down to pleading for conscripts from North Korea.

Then he played his ace in the hole.

Donald Motherfucking Trump.
