It’s New Year’s Eve…so it’s the perfect time to reflect on all the art I did this year! I’m so grateful for all your support this year, from seeing me at conventions to reading my books every moment means so much to me.

We’re nearly at the end of the year, so it’s about time for Art versus Artist! It’s been a year full of comics for me…and looking at my own comic characters I can see the resemblance. 💕 I can’t wait to see how me and my work changes for next year! #artvsartist

Oh the Nutcracker nostalgia! Somewhere in my memories I remember my times as snowflakes, flowers, and sweets and auditioning every year. I remember dreaming of being the sugar plum fairy dressed in sparkles and pink…and every time I see someone in that role I’m captivated and inspired.

Working on a new series of charms that I’d like to call…Sleeping with the Fishes hehe. I plan to have a whole bunch and make them into little surprise boxes in actual tins. Trust the process haha.

This year my new business cards were “employee IDs” and you guys really loved them! People have shown me the filled in cards and one person even put it in a card sleeve and lanyard! My fave was when a parent told me their kids use them when they play “store”. It got me thinking…

Starting this Monster High Month with Jinafire! 🐉🔥
As a Chinese Monster High fan I often go back and forth with some design decisions. Designing a dragon and showing Asian representation is something I love. While she isn’t perfect I do like how the new gen tries to make better representation!

It’s been a joy to get to draw these designs! I am happy to see a new generation who get to have these girls grow with them. At the end of the day the reboot may not be perfect, but what makes Winx special is all of us coming together and seeing a little of ourselves in each member.
