Wiccan: Witches' Road #1
Love Billy & Teddy together so was worried when this was titled for only one of them, but we get so many fun relationship moments! Including a camping retcon (but it doesn't Not work). Art is mystical & sets a tone even as the story jumps back and forth. On board for this.

Venom (Vol. 6) #252
I really like the side characters getting a taste of being SM, now with MJ. Citizens turning on Otto was real fun; Luke makes a great mayor. Mixed feelings about the MJ/Flash flirtation. The two bonus stories are weird but cool. Hopefully Masque's plot lives up to this intrigue.

Ultimate X-Men (Vol. 2) #22
Kageyama's goop is unsettling; Hisako finally uses her power offensively. Coloring makes for a creepy atmosphere. I've had a nightmare about SK's face in the explosive confrontation with Armor – and I can't wait for another. Excited to see what Mei does with her X-men!

Ultimate Universe: Two Years In #1
A fun aside, but felt very removed from the rest of the Ultimate Universe. Art matched the tone excellently as Guardians try to find each other across spacetime. The DD/Beyonder pages were wacky. Other versions of cosmic powers are fun remixes. Mostly liked this.

Spider-Man: Noir #3
Love the Nazi punching & opening lab fire- a fun action piece. (Thought diving-helmet-guy might be Namor) Plasma Man is a cool villain, no way this is the last of him. Gwen wants to know who's responsible for her dad's death? Scorpion & his gang. Case closed Pete, not that hard.

Spider-Man: Homeroom Heroes #4
Two cute stories involving Pete and the FF. Herbie and the Doombots is fun, but could have gone farther with the silly. The art is bright and cartoony, and it's a fine tale that just plays it a bit safe. (I know this is for kids.)

Spider-Girl (Vol. 3) #7
It's a conclusion issue (thought the Hawaii arc would be longer). Centipedes vs Dog Mutates vs Spider-Girl; oh my! It's a bloodier issue that I expected, with some gross/dark moments that surprised me in a younger focused run. Maka's really grown on me since her start.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #41
Miles tells Raneem how it is; she almost gets it. The Assessor's upgrades are intense, this has to be traumatic for Miles to go through again. Stressful. Thankfully Anansi hears him, and gives some help to his Harold. (Is this how Pete gets back from space‽)

Marvel: Black, White & Blood and Guts #3
I would have read the Blade story as a full run, there's a lot to unpack. Gorgon's gone back to the Hand, while Hit Monkey has thoughts he would like to share. The Punisher's tale is as bloody as expected, but it's a good revenge/punisher plot.

Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #3
The pacing moves so fast in this one I don't think any emotional beats have time to sink in. Lots of shocking moments; The characters were all screaming plot points at each other; Not surprised about the power reveal, & Arakko is barely utilized. Was hoping for more.

Hulk: Smash Everything #1
Hulk may want to Smash everything, but it's mostly the Sanctum. I'm curious what the Leader's full plan is, but sending Hulk to fight dinosaurs is a fun start. Looking forward to him smashing meteors and changing history. Was not expecting an ongoing, fun.

Fantastic Four (Vol. 8) #6
Averting an entire alien invasion single-handedly is just the opening gambit! Love the scientific explorations (complete with force-cones & letter-fingers)! Kids make short work of Wizard. Very excited for a new Future Foundation, but worried about the Shield of it all.

Doctor Strange (Vol. 8) #1
The opening & closing splashes are beautiful reflections of each other. I like this as an opening issue: New villain with unknown skills, new adventure in a new land, and Strange - used to being the one in control - now has to learn from scratch. Compelling start.

Binary #3
Didn't Maddie just work through this? (Or are we just pretending that didn't happen?) Surprised Carol would turn away from a fight to throw a hissy fit, but ok. Turns out the unrest was lies & base misogyny. Expressions are interesting, but I love battle effects art & recombining scene.

Amazing X-Men (Vol. 3) #3
Doug's Plan is to become a new Ego‽ Ummm... why‽ Rambo-Glob upsets me. Kwannon wipes off her psychic sword‽ I appreciate that we are Finally deleting the RLDS storyline finally. Didn't really wrap up any story for me, just a lead in to the finale.

X-Vengers #2
The Dani, Sam, 'Berto, Doug reunion was so lovely; but then it's all shouting. I bet Doug's behind the Technarch explosions & killed Vision, but we'll find out. I was expecting more from this team, even when they jump conclusions into action. Old friendships are helping no one here.

Venom: Black, White & Blood #4
Bloodthirsty Lee narrates his way through a bloody encounter. Marc finds out that Eddie & Venom are the OTP because they match each other's freak. Felicia has a theft foiled & there are lots of feral cats for some reason. It's violent, fun, & bloody stories for all.

Undeadpool #2
Fearless is little more than a plot device, but the battle between Wade & Cable goes all over the place. The art keeps the action moving, but the references & exposition are a lot to keep track of. Cable is from the future in an already future story? Sure. We'll see how this wraps up.

Undead Iron Fist #3
Quan Yaozu controlling the other Weapons is a scary concept. Danny as a fist of Osiris is an interesting twist. Great fight scenes. "Like kids in the driver's seat of a Lamborghini" Ha! Time is running out, but Possessed Luke Cage makes one hell of an obstacle.
February 4, 2026 at 9:41 PM
The Mortal Thor (Vol. 7) #4
An adventure with Magni and Ulik in Asgard. Are they servants to the story? Do they have choices? This issue doesn't answer any of those questions, but it might be asking them. The revelation of the All-Power worked, and will have lasting implications I'm excited about.

Marvel Zombies: Red Band #3
Skeletal Reed is creepier than I thought. I could have used more of Phoenix & Beyonder, but there was a lot of plot to get through in this one. Other than the aforementioned encounter (I could have read pages of) I really enjoyed the pacing and the way it is unfolding.

Marvel Knights: Punisher #2
I like the El Zombie bits, and am feeling for Frank in this situation. The art sells the violence quite well, I appreciate the coloring creating a full mood. The spy pieces slow the pacing, but it feels intentional. The prison fight was nasty work. What's this run saying?
February 4, 2026 at 9:33 PM
Infernal Hulk #1
The art is as upsetting as it needs to be. It's an opening chapter, but it sets the stage well. I really don't know how Banner is going to get through this split, or how it will impact other books, but I'm very interested in the Atlantis of it all.

Expatriate X-Men #2
Trista calls Pete "Uncle" then a gas deal with Shaw goes wrong & the team argues about hidden loyalties. I feel like this would land better with established characters but instead it just kinda happens. Accusations are flying and as a reader I do not know or care which are true.

Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #1
Love when legal issues pits Matt against others, & Frank is a big one. Narration tells the story in classic noir style. The Law vs Justice in stark contrast. Cool gangster meeting; fascinating. Issue is mostly set-up, but I enjoy what it's setting up.
