My Jackson SL1, serial number shows it was made early in 93 Ontario.
Has active mid boost that you use by rolling on the knob to the right of the other traditional volume and tone knobs.
The mid boost works as you think it would in making solos stand out more

Small solo clip here, cant remember what guitar was used but do know Pod pro rack unit with setting 5b was used for guitar sound
Solo wise, I normally know how I will start and finish with the middle being just wing it. Happy to nail last note harmonic otherwise would have to redo all!
