Yesterday was a beautiful day for our New Roots & Green Crew (workforce development programs) to plant California native plants beneath a coast live oak at the @sfpublicworks.bsky.social Street Tree Nursery! 🌼🌱🌿 They planted California bee plant, yarrow & bush anemone.

As part of our new initiative, Trees of Faith for San Francisco, we planted 39 trees in the Bayview in collaboration with The Providence Foundation of San Francisco (founded by the Providence Baptist Church).

After trees are planted, they need lots of love! 💚 These wonderful folks from Temasek came out on a Friday to mulch 🍂, prune ✂️, and nurture 🌱 newly planted trees in the Outer Sunset.

The ground beneath concrete has often been covered for 100+ years! Adding compost & planting mix rejuvenates the soil & makes it a healthy home for a new street tree.🌳 When possible, we always try to auger to aerate the soil & make tree planting easier for our beloved volunteers! 💚 #urbanforestry

20 coast live oaks (trees native to the Bay Area) were planted at the McLaren Park Native Plant Garden & along the Crosstown Trail’s new Roundabout route! 🌳

We’re hiring a Watering Crew Technician - Driving! Watering Crew Technicians are responsible for watering Friends of the Urban Forest trees the day they are planted and assigned trees once a week for at least three years until they are fully established.

What a fun planting at the Vermont Greenway and Eco-Patch in Potrero Hill! 21 volunteers planted 17 coast live oak—trees native to the Bay Area. A big thank you to GIC for bringing fantastic energy and for their generous support of this planting.

63 volunteers planted 46 🌳 last week in the Excelsior! We're doing a series of plantings w/ the SF Interfaith Council & a range of faith communities. This planting's faith community was the SF Campus for Jewish Living. Supported by a grant from @americanforests.bsky.social, we hope to plant 600+ 🌳!
