Susan Collins voted to extend the ACA for 3 years. They are short of the votes needed. Seen this movie. As long as it has no chance of actually passing she'll make the "moral' vote so she can parade it around election time. If it might pass, she will be swayed by compelling arguments against it.

senator Bernie Moreno complained that the Democrats were focusing on only 5,6,7% of the population. The Republican Big Beautiful Bill focused on the approximately 900 billionaires or 0.00026470588% of the population.

Is anyone else eager to hear the Admiral's explanation as to how 2 men floating amongst the wreckage of a boat, that the Americans JUST sank, posed a viable threat to the craft that just sunk them?

Trump's DOJ withdrew a letter to an FBI agent who sued Alex Jones that he might be subject to an investigation as to whether he as a government employee benefitted from the lawsuit.

I'm wondering how this all started? Someone had to approve the letter being sent out. How high up did it go?

Here's something to consider when Trump speaks about how we're being "ripped off". Take China off of the list, the US GDP is equal to the next 9 countries on that list.

Not sure what is really happening, but Tesla is missing 1.4 billion. Could we say it's embarrassing for a guy who's supposed to find fraud/waste in the federal government?

Trump claims that the boom was in anticipation of him coming back as president but once he actually came back it crashed. For four years nothing Joe Biden did could dampen the market... Except leave office?

The DOJ is appealing to judges for time in the face of 170 plus lawsuits against the government because ... they are shorthanded. Gee...I wonder why. Thanks Elon. Turns out the job cutting blade has two edges.

Some members of Congress are "concerned" that Trump will ignore the orders of the courts. These are the members with enough "common sense" to know that once the court is made irrelevant, they're next, the Self serving bastards. Others think they are indispensable to Trump, deluded bastards.

In regards to the measles outbreak in Texas, RFK Jr said there will be an investigation. On the first day of the administration, Elon Musk was firing people and shutting down departments. The tale of the tape is breakneck speed for the things they want. Everything else they ride the brakes.

It struck me odd that President Musk would say "We'll make mistakes, lots of them but we'll correct them quickly".

Then I remembered from my old shop class: "Measure twice, cut once."

A question for poli sci majors. The US and Russia are about to enter negotiations in regards to Ukraine without Ukraine. If Ukraine rejects it and continues fighting, what will the US do? Would they actually fire on a country that has not fired on them?

Trump is the perfect dupe for Putin. The United States for all its previous faults was on track to leave Russia in its wake with an expanding economy, technological developments and solid alliances. He needed to derail it by using Trump to appeal to the baser natures.
