Blood, Sweat, and Pixels (Kan, Ter ve Pikseller) is a great book that reflects how it feels like developing game for a living. Even though the book does its job very well, consider it at least two times harder than you imagined!

I have just started to play with Stable Diffusion. My NVIDIA 980TI can easily generate many images pretty quickly. I am OK with waiting a minute or so for 4-6 images. I can spend hours on this everyday but I don’t have much time unfortunately.
