Many Pennsylvanians want to grow their families, but simply cannot afford to do so. As I have been reminded this year, welcoming new members to the family is a challenge, even under the best of circumstances.

Over $11 million in Neighborhood Assistance Program awards were recently awarded to organizations in Allegheny County, including over $1 million to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to support their efforts to ensure that every family has access to fresh, nutritious food.

This week I introduced legislation to strengthen workers compensation law to ensure that PA workers are fairly and adequately protected. If you’re hurt on the job, especially if your injury is permanent, you should be able to provide for your family and receive fair compensation for your injury.
