Working mom of triplets. She/her. Senator proudly representing #SD31 in CA’s Inland Empire. Chair of Senate Committee on Elections. #DeliveringResults🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈 sd31.senate.ca.gov
I will address this threat to the integrity of California’s elections—and work to follow up on Senate Bill 851 and further bolster our state’s defenses against federal interference—by introducing language in Senate Bill 73 in January.
President Trump has long targeted California and may deploy federal agents to engage in voter suppression under the guise of “election monitoring.” The Trump Administration must not interfere with California’s elections by intimidating voters or impeding the canvass of the vote.
The Trump admin's Department of Justice will deploy election monitors to five CA counties on Election Day, the department announced Friday, in what it describes as an effort to “ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law.” bit.ly/3JqZP0i

The way federal agents charged @padilla.senate.gov then handcuffed him is outrageous. This disregard for U.S. senators trying to ask questions is straight out of the authoritarian’s playbook. If the Trump Admin will attack a senator this way, what will they do to the American people?
Senator Padilla’s office sends me this video of his take-down and detention at Sec. Noem’s press conference in L.A.
