Its cold this morning 🥶 but 6990 is looking resplendant and now finally sporting a correct destination blind thanks to our friends at Blinds by PWC and Peter Watts!

Happy New Year! As it's 2026, we thought we'd remind you about our programme of this year's events. And the eagle-eyed will spot that we've snuck in an extra, 'A Day with SELNEC' on 24 May when we'll dig out orange buses and welcome a restoration premiere courtesy of some lovely friends... 😉

As part of the refresh of EX1 we have had its original number blinds remade. These are of the Mancunian style with sharp angles used by MCTD. The later curved numerals and blinds would come later. These (along with a replica via blind) have been expertly made by Blinds by PWC and Peter Watts.

As part of the refresh of EX1 we have had its original number blinds remade. These are of the Mancunian style with sharp angles used by MCTD. The later curved numerals and blinds would come later. These (along with a replica via blind) have been expertly made by Blinds by PWC and Peter Watts.
Manchesters first prototype Standard vehicle, EX1 PNF 941J (a Leyland Atlantean whose chassis was a legecy order of Ashton Corporation) has been in slumber for quite afew years. Now awoken once more, it will be a feature on the rally circuit next year. But not before a well deserved repaint!
