The parallel that I can sense, no matter how our personal situations are playing out or affecting us, is with that of an Initiatory Experience. More precisely, the sort of initiation that was unexpected and goes largely unrecognized.

An initiation marks a distinct time of life before and life after. It’s the kind of experience that, at its extreme, will feel like a complete personal over-haul, almost like we have been reborn or achieved a new level of depth/height in awareness.

If we come to the candle lit table, hands cupped ‘round a stone bowl brimming full and fragrant with the softest rose petals, and lay them at the statued feet of a revered deity; are we praying at a beautiful shrine? Or working at an altar?
