We are a biomaterials lab investigating approaches to unlock endogenous regeneration. We have special interest in skin, brain regeneration and culturing tolerance after organ/tissue transplants. Lab website: seguralab@duke.edu.
Excited to be part of this year's society for biomaterials meeting #SFB2025. Check out the Segura lab talks that will be going on this week! Hope to connect with many of you at SFB.

New publication ⚠️This study was led by the✨Dr. Alexa Anderson✨, who graduated with her PhD back in 2023. Here she investigated the process of vasculogenesis (not sprouting angiogenesis) in #MAPgel. She did a very comprehensive an amazing job! 🧵

This was such a #proudPI moment! It is truly an honor to be part of @juhisamal.bsky.social 's mentoring team. It's the best to see great people become great PIs. It's not enough to be a great scientist.
Couldn’t possibly overstate the role of my postdoc mentor Tatiana @seguralab.bsky.social in my academic career! She’s a forever champion of her trainees and everything I want to be for my mentees! Also the hugs are stellar! 😂 Exhibit A (signing my faculty job offer letter) here was followed by one!💕

Thank you Michaela! So nice to be highlighted! The Duke BME community is indeed stellar ⭐
Duke BME has a stellar community of biomaterials experts, including @seguralab.bsky.social. Her team develops biomaterials that can harness the body’s own ability to repair itself. One of the applications of this work is in the brain, potentially limiting issues caused by strokes.

I am so behind on posts and really wanted to finish positing about the special issue I edited for Advanced Healthcare Materials. I got through half the papers in X... onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/... I do not think I will finish that project, too much work, but will start with new papers 😆.
