The grazing animals spend the winter on our Local Nature Reserves in Ainsdale and Birkdale and help control vegetation and scrub growth.

Work has officially started on King Street and Market Street in Southport as part of 'Les Transformations de Southport'!📍

Both streets will be closed for most of 2025, with work set to finish in October.

Businesses on both streets will continue operating and are open as usual✅

Safety assessments will be carried out on the building. As a result Meadows Leisure Centre will be closed on Monday (03/02/2025).

Active Sefton members can still use other leisure centres across Sefton.

While Meadows Leisure Centre remains closed to the public, the building will be open between 10am and 2pm tomorrow (Sunday) for those who were evacuated to collect their belongings which were left behind.

We are urging all nearby residents and businesses to keep windows and doors closed to protect themselves from smoke.

A number of temporary road closures are being put in place to allow for the emergency services to carry out their roles safely and effectively.

There is an amber weather warning issued for wind today, 24th January, up until 9pm this evening🌪️

All parks across Sefton have been closed for safety reasons, parks will be reopened once assessments have taken place.
