New Discovery in cell fate decision-making! #CIBSS members Chiara Schröder and Sebastian Arnold uncover a crucial step in the regulatory process that primes cells to differentiate into muscle, organ, or brain tissue. Published today in Developmental Cell: www.cell.com/developmenta...
EOMES establishes mesoderm and endoderm differentiation potential through SWI/SNF-mediated global enhancer remodeling
Schröder et al. describe the molecular functions of the Tbx factor Eomes, which, together with the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, establishes enhancer accessibility at mesoderm and endoderm (ME) genes during lineage specification of pluripotent cells. Eomes enables broad ME lineage competence for gene activation that relies on additional signal-induced transcription factors.
